Normal walking/ outdoor clothing is fine, we prefer traditional Tweed but modern technical hunting clothing is acceptable. Leather waterproof Boots with Gaiters, or comfortable wellingtons if you have them, along with hat and gloves.
A. Yes we have a rifle which guests can use under the ‘estate rifle facility’, you need no licence for this and it is a requirement to go the target prior to going out on the hill.
A. We can arrange a skull mount and you can then purchase a plaque of your choice to mount on to. We also work with a very good taxidermist who will do full shoulder mount if required and this will be individually priced. He can also prepare and mount Grouse, Woodcock & Snipe to your specifications.
A. Yes, overseas visitors will need a sponsor to apply for a British Visitors Permit, RJH SPORTS can do this for you for. Please be aware there is a charge for this service and a 4 weeks turnaround on application. It is also advised to check with the airline you intend to fly with in advance to see if they allow firearms.
A. You could get your shotgun or rifle delivered to us by a registered firearms dealer to the dealer on the Island. Alternatively we can a hire a gun to you at a daily rate.
A. Yes and No! Semi autos are generally not used for Grouse, Woodcock & Snipe, but are commonly used for wildfowling.
A. Yes well behaved dogs are welcome.
A. Yes all persons participating in sporting activities with RJH SPORTS require valid third party sporting insurance. RJH Sports can arrange this for you if required.
A. It’s not necessary as RJH SPORTS can arrange airport transfer to your accommodation if requested, but it does give you the freedom to explore the Islands. For those wishing to shoot Geese it is advised to hire a car to get you to and from the flighting areas.

Our Terms & Conditions

 Once a let has been agreed, it will be provisionally held in your name and an invoice for the deposit of 50% of the total let will be sent to you. Payment should be made within 14 days to confirm booking.

 The final invoice will be sent, and is due for payment 4 weeks prior to the commencement of the let.

 If the client cancels a confirmed booking, the client is responsible for the cost of full payment of the let. Once written confirmation of cancellation has been received, if the booking can be re-let, full payment will be re-imbrued less £50.00 administration charge.

 It is recommended that clients take out insurance to cover the possibility of cancellation, in the event of the booking being unable to be re-let.

 The client is responsible for the condition of any rented property. Therefore any damage or breakages must be reported in the first instance and made good before departure.

 All sports persons must possess third party insurance to cover the possibility of any sporting accidents. RJH Sports can arrange this for you if required.

 All instructions given by keepers, stalkers and ghillies must be adhered to, and followed at all times. Failure to do so could result in the termination of the let without refund.

 The company cannot be held responsible for any accidents, theft or damages incurred by either sporting or non sporting clients.

 All sports persons are required to carry valid and relevant licences/certificates for their appropriate sporting weapons.

 Visitors permits for firearms and shotguns can be arranged for clients wishing to bring their own guns. Once the relevant documents have been received, there is a 4 week turnaround.

 The preparation of stags heads can be arranged if required, at an additional charge.

 A daily limit of 5 birds per gun applies for Grouse & Woodcock shooting, unless otherwise advised. 

 All game remains with the estate, although a complimentary brace of birds per gun/day will be given if requested.
