Where are the Outer Hebrides?It has never been as easy to travel to the Islands by either air or sea.

Flights operated by British Airways and British Midland fly from Edinburgh,Glasgow and Inverness twice daily, Monday to Saturday with a Sunday flight from Edinburgh now available. Flight time is approximately one hour from Edinburgh/Glasgow and 45 minutes from Inverness.

A ferry service provided by Caledonian MacBrayne operates from Ullapool in Wester Ross, sailing to Stornoway on the Isle of Lewis, and from Uig on the Isle of Skye, to Tarbert on the Isle of Harris. Sailings are twice daily through the winter time, with extra daily sailings throughout the summer months. Please note that the ferry only sails six days a week. Ferry journey times are approximately 2.5 hours from Ullapool and 1.5 hours from Uig.

Accommodation can be arranged depending on your own preferences, with a good range of choice available. The Islands boast superb hotels, Guest Houses and Bed and Breakfast establishments offering excellent comfort and Island hospitality, along with mouth-watering menu's using local produce.

Or if you prefer to be more independent, there is a wide range of self catering accommodation to choose from, ranging from self contained holiday chalets, traditional stone built croft houses, or even a black-house! Which ever you choose you can be certain of a warm Island welcome.
