“I hope you’re well and have had a good summer and also those wonderful gundogs of yours;
I have enjoyed telling my friends about our time on Lewis- more about you and the dogs than
me and the grouse!

Hope to hear from you soon.”

Peter Billings, Austrailia
“With regard to our stay, actually, very windy conditions did not stop Russell to locate or to stop with his dogs Woodcock as easily as expected… Nevertheless, his hunting organisation and the quality of his dogs are blameless; on 70 Woodcock flushed in 5 days, 25 about were at the stop of the dogs and 21 killed.”
Jean-Marc Triquet, Normandy
A rather late thank you for all your efforts. There always seems to a mass of work to come back to whenever I go away. Everyone enjoyed themselves and I was very pleased to shoot my first grouse. Nigel and Hamish are going to need a bit of tuition for next year now we know how it works
Andrew Blair, Bristol
The grouse hunt on the Isle of Lewis in Scotland was great fun. We shot the limit of 10 grouse in two days. Russell is a first rate guide and his dogs were extraordinarily good.
Nicholas Taylor, Texas, USA
I hope you’re well and that you have had a great hunting season, I suppose your season is over as ours in Sweden. We Mathias, Emil and I really enjoyed our week with you on the Island, with your great gun dogs and your stalkers. I have enjoyed telling my friends about our time on Lewis- more about you, your dogs and your crazy colleagues than me and my stag I shot.
Niklas Elk, Sweden
We all had a great time and that was very much down to the way you looked after us. It was a memorable few days and the woodcock on top of the mountain will stay with me forever!

I hope you will have us back

Jeremy Gordon, London

Everything was perfect again. Hotel impeccable, kitchen Scottish quite decent and surprising and Russell a really lovely type who shared his passion for the grouse and all gave us a course on training the dogs. We all passed a pleasant moment and we all realized our dream of Hunt the Famous Grouse. Very cordially
Laurent Berteaux, Rambouillet
Thank you so much for a superb trip to the Isle of Lewis, I so enjoyed the experience.
It was a pleasure to meet you, your enthusiasm and professionalism is infectious, not often I meet people with so much passion for their life.
Making me so welcome, breakfast, dinner made by Jane thank you.
Richard Macnicol
I just wanted to say how much I enjoyed shooting with you and your marvellous dogs.
In the words of a World War II general: “I shall return”.
All the best for the rest of the season!
